It’s a bit of a delayed post as we went to Spain at the end of August, but the weather’s getting colder and I’m starting to wish for a sunny beach!
As we’re from England we’re not used to prolonged sunshine, so I thought it would be best to make a list of some of things to do to make the most of the sunny summer before it starts raining again and we’re all forced to stay inside for 3 months!
Lloret de Mar, Spain
- Take a day trip to the beach
- Invent a new cocktail or mocktail
- Go shopping for summery clothes
- Explore your hometown
- Practice your photography
- Make a delicious salad
- Go swimming to cool down
- Host a summery party
- Read a book in the park
- Go for a picnic
- Drink cocktails in the sun
- Have a BBQ
- Have a girls (or boys) night in
- Spend the whole day outside
- Climb a tree
- Build a fort
- Do some gardening
- Pick flowers to make a bouquet
- See if there are any outdoor cinemas near you
- Try a new restaurant
- Clean all your dirty clothes (it’s boring, but they really do dry faster in hot weather!)
- Bake (and eat) a cake/biscuits/cupcakes
- Customize your clothes
- Try a new sport
- And if you’re feeling adventurous, grab your friends and go on a spontaneous weekend trip!
What have you been doing to make the most of the sun?
Because this is my last year of A-Levels and I start university in Autumn, this summer is the longest one I’ve ever had, and needless to say I’m very excited! I leave school at the end of May and don’t start university until the beginning of October, giving me 4 months (minus 2 weeks of exams) to do whatever I so wish. Now whilst I can manage a week or two of pure lazy-ness, I don’t think I can justify spending 4 months of my life living in pajamas and watching thrilling daytime TV *cough* Jeremy Kyle *cough*. Therefore, for the sake of my sanity, I present to you my Summer Bucket List!
After spending a lot of my childhood in a tent in Scotland I have grown to love camping. There’s something so nice to be able to wake up and just be in the middle of the countryside, so this summer I want to go camping again and get back into the country!
I am currently working on improving my fitness levels so I’m hoping that by the end of summer I will be able to run a 5k race with relative ease.
I love to explore new places so I want to make the most of the long holidays and visit some places I’ve never been before. I’ve already booked two holidays (London and Spain) so watch this space to find out more!
A-Levels seem to be taking up my whole life and I don’t seem to have much time to keep up with my other interests. I used to read all the time, I love books and I love being transported anywhere in the universe, but after only reading a handful of books in the last year or so, I’m having serious withdrawal symptoms.
5. Capsule Wardrobe:
At the moment my wardrobe is full of old clothes that I’ve had for years, my boyfriends baggy t-shirts which I live in, and clothes that don’t fit anymore. So my aim this summer is to build up a capsule wardrobe of classic pieces that will last, ready for university.
After learning how to make wire jewelry I have started to spend a long time choosing beads and making things, so what better way to earn some extra money than by doing something you love?
7. Learn New Things:
This one’s pretty self explanatory, I want to learn some new skills. I’m not sure what I would like to learn at the moment. Maybe Spanish, crochet, knitting, baking?
So what plans have you got for your summer?
