25 Things To Do On A Rainy Day

Seeing as we’re not likely to be seeing the sun until sometime next May, we need to make the most of being inside instead of wistfully looking out the window and hoping for a ray of sunshine. Or at least hoping for no rain.

1. Make cake

2. Have a spa day with friends

3. Have a girly night in with cocktails, pizza and chic flicks

4. Catch up on work or housework

5. Pamper yourself with a bubble bath and a glass of wine

6. Read a book

7. Organise your wardrobe (or floordrobe!)

8. Learn a new skill (musical instrument, crochet etc)

9. Work on one of your hobbies

10. Internet shop in your pajamas

11. Re-vamp your blog

12. Have a clothes customizing party

13. Have a clothes swap party. Bake some cupcakes, shake up some cocktails and get rid of some unwanted clothes

14. Catch up on your favourite TV show

15. Try a new workout video or exercise (I suggest skipping)

16. Plan an exotic holiday for the summer

17. Call or visit your family

18. Try a new hairstyle or different makeup. I recently perfected my winged eyeliner look!

19. Write a good old-fashioned letter to a friend

20. Christmas shop online to avoid the crowds

21. Give your home a new look by rearranging furniture, or making some homemade art for the walls

22. Try out new recipes until you find a new favourite

23. Clear out your makeup drawer. Do you really still need that bright yellow nail polish you bought when you were 15?

24. Learn about a new topic. Have you ever wondered how your TV works? No, me neither. But you know what I mean!

25. Play board games. We’ve all got them in the house getting dusty somewhere, so get some use out of them!

What do you enjoy doing on rainy days?

Summer Bucket List

Because this is my last year of A-Levels and I start university in Autumn, this summer is the longest one I’ve ever had, and needless to say I’m very excited! I leave school at the end of May and don’t start university until the beginning of October, giving me 4 months (minus 2 weeks of exams) to do whatever I so wish. Now whilst I can manage a week or two of pure lazy-ness, I don’t think I can justify spending 4 months of my life living in pajamas and watching thrilling daytime TV *cough* Jeremy Kyle *cough*. Therefore, for the sake of my sanity, I present to you my Summer Bucket List!

1. Camping:

After spending a lot of my childhood in a tent in Scotland I have grown to love camping. There’s something so nice to be able to wake up and just be in the middle of the countryside, so this summer I want to go camping again and get back into the country!

2. 5k:

I am currently working on improving my fitness levels so I’m hoping that by the end of summer I will be able to run a 5k race with relative ease.

3. Travel:

I love to explore new places so I want to make the most of the long holidays and visit some places I’ve never been before. I’ve already booked two holidays (London and Spain) so watch this space to find out more!

4. Read:

A-Levels seem to be taking up my whole life and I don’t seem to have much time to keep up with my other interests. I used to read all the time, I love books and I love being transported anywhere in the universe, but after only reading a handful of books in the last year or so, I’m having serious withdrawal symptoms.

5. Capsule Wardrobe:

At the moment my wardrobe is full of old clothes that I’ve had for years, my boyfriends baggy t-shirts which I live in, and clothes that don’t fit anymore. So my aim this summer is to build up a capsule wardrobe of classic pieces that will last, ready for university.

6. Etsy:

After learning how to make wire jewelry I have started to spend a long time choosing beads and making things, so what better way to earn some extra money than by doing something you love?

7. Learn New Things:

This one’s pretty self explanatory, I want to learn some new skills. I’m not sure what I would like to learn at the moment. Maybe Spanish, crochet, knitting, baking?

So what plans have you got for your summer?
