The Woes Of An A-Level Student

So after a long hard day at college including an art exam and 3 hours of textiles, what is the most exciting thing that you could think to do to relax after such a stressful day? Reading a good new book? Having a long, soaky bath? Watching TV in your dressing gown? I’ll be the first to say it, they all sounds like heaven. Can you guess which of the above I plan on doing this evening? That’s right, none of them… *sigh*

It’s coursework all evening for me, so I thought I would take a well-deserved break and update you all and put some love into this blog 🙂

I hope you’re all having a more thrilling evening than I am (I don’t think it would be hard!)

However, I am very much looking forward to the weekend. It’s my friends 18th birthday, I’m going out for drinks with the boyfriend and I’m thinking of getting some new piercings.

Do any of you have exciting plans for the weekend?

Lazy Sunday (A.K.A The Weekend With A lot Of Pizza)

So this weekend has been a bit frantic with travelling to Birmingham to see a concert with my boyfriend, travelling home for a party that was cancelled in the end, and the mountains of art coursework that have been weighing me down. Yet somehow this weekend I have managed to have 3 meals consisting entirely of take-away pizza, and judging by the leftovers from tonight, there is a fourth pizza meal for lunch tomorrow. Now, I adore pizza, probably more than most people (definitely above average) but after this weekend I’m starting to feel grease oozing out of my pores. I think I’ll have to fill up of fruit and veg next week to counteract all this takeaway madness!

Even though I feel exhausted at the moment, I feel like I’ve achieved a lot this weekend. I started a new book, I even tidied my room which is impressive by anyone’s standards! And lets be honest, eating that much pizza is just darn incredible…

How have your weekends been? Has anyone done anything exciting?

Summer Bucket List

Because this is my last year of A-Levels and I start university in Autumn, this summer is the longest one I’ve ever had, and needless to say I’m very excited! I leave school at the end of May and don’t start university until the beginning of October, giving me 4 months (minus 2 weeks of exams) to do whatever I so wish. Now whilst I can manage a week or two of pure lazy-ness, I don’t think I can justify spending 4 months of my life living in pajamas and watching thrilling daytime TV *cough* Jeremy Kyle *cough*. Therefore, for the sake of my sanity, I present to you my Summer Bucket List!

1. Camping:

After spending a lot of my childhood in a tent in Scotland I have grown to love camping. There’s something so nice to be able to wake up and just be in the middle of the countryside, so this summer I want to go camping again and get back into the country!

2. 5k:

I am currently working on improving my fitness levels so I’m hoping that by the end of summer I will be able to run a 5k race with relative ease.

3. Travel:

I love to explore new places so I want to make the most of the long holidays and visit some places I’ve never been before. I’ve already booked two holidays (London and Spain) so watch this space to find out more!

4. Read:

A-Levels seem to be taking up my whole life and I don’t seem to have much time to keep up with my other interests. I used to read all the time, I love books and I love being transported anywhere in the universe, but after only reading a handful of books in the last year or so, I’m having serious withdrawal symptoms.

5. Capsule Wardrobe:

At the moment my wardrobe is full of old clothes that I’ve had for years, my boyfriends baggy t-shirts which I live in, and clothes that don’t fit anymore. So my aim this summer is to build up a capsule wardrobe of classic pieces that will last, ready for university.

6. Etsy:

After learning how to make wire jewelry I have started to spend a long time choosing beads and making things, so what better way to earn some extra money than by doing something you love?

7. Learn New Things:

This one’s pretty self explanatory, I want to learn some new skills. I’m not sure what I would like to learn at the moment. Maybe Spanish, crochet, knitting, baking?

So what plans have you got for your summer?

April Wish List

April Wish List
The weather is getting warmer (finally!) so it’s getting time to ditch the huge jumpers and start being a little more adventurous with clothes. These are some of my favourite styles at the moment and even though some may be a little out of my price range, I’m hoping to add some new Spring clothes into my wardrobe soon.

Paris Photo Diary

Notre Dame

Some pictures from a recent trip to Paris with my college. We were only there for a few days but we managed to see so much. I’m hoping to go back to Paris so that I can see some less touristy parts of the city and get a feel for what the city is really like, eat more French cuisine, and finally visit a LadurĂ©e shop! I must have wandered around the Louvre shopping area for a good hour, but not a macaron in sight!

Next time I hope to look round the shops, especially Galeries Lafayette. Some friends and I meant to spend an afternoon there, but we spent too long at the Eiffel Tower, though there were some very nice Nutella crepes to make up for it!

This guy painted himself painting the same painting he was already painting… It was all very confusing to get your head around!

A collection of photos from the past couple of years. They’ve been collecting metaphorical dust in my computer and I thought that this would be a good chance to show off some past aspects of my life to you all.

Stay tuned for part 2 coming up soon!

Hello World!

I’m Elanor, a student from England who, after a long blogging hiatus, is returning to my blog to document some parts of my life.

I’m a fashion enthusiast and I love all types of fashion from haute couture to vintage and everything in between. Aside from fashion I love reading, photography, food (especially food), fitness and art.

I hope to one day travel the world, bake the perfect cinnamon swirl, eat lots of burgers and find a pair of jeans with pockets large enough to fit essentials in (I think it’s a marketing ploy so women have to buy bags).
